Agenda and decisions approved

1. On the state of implementation of the decisions approved at the previous meeting

Mr Sabit Baghirov provided information in this respect.

2. Discussion of the results of the campaign being carried out by the Coalition

After the hearing of the presentation by Mr Oqtay Gulaliyev, the chairman of the working group on the campaign, about the Coalition-implemented campaign, it was proposed to start compiling a new package of proposals in order to carry out future campaigns at a higher level. For that purpose, there was set up a three-member working group composed of Ms Mirvari Qahramanli, Mr Oqtay Gulaliyev and Mr Elshad Huseynov. The working group had to make recommendations for the future by analysing the results of the campaign.

3. Approval of a representative from the Coalition to the regional EITI group

Mr Sabit Baghirov provided information about a meeting, in Tbilisi, Georgia, on September 12th, 2006, of civil society organizations from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and Russia, and the statement which was made at that gathering. Mr Zohrab Ismayilov was approved a representative from the Coalition to the regional contact group on EITI.

4. Timing of the next general meeting

The next general meeting of the Coalition was scheduled for December 22nd, 2006.

5. Current Issues

Mr Sabit Baghirov said that a united action plan was under preparation to outline activities of the Coalition in 2007, and that members of the Coalition were encourage to come up with their draft proposals. As a matter of fact, the proposals, to be submitted, will be included in the united action plan, which will be brought up for discussion at the general meeting.
