10 members of the Council, 1 member of the Monitoring Group, 12 members of the Coalition.

Agenda and decisions approved

  1. Azerbaijan ? World Bank Partnership Strategy for 2007-2010 ? Presentation of the World Bank?s Country Office in Azerbaijan for discussion to NGOs

Mr Gregory Yadzeychak, the newly appointed head of the World Bank?s Country Office in Azerbaijan, presented Country Partnership Strategy between Azerbaijan and the World Bank for 2007-2010, for discussion to NGOs. The presentation set out the aim of the strategy as well as major principles with respect to Azerbaijan, and outlined the projects, which likely will be financed by the Bank. After the presentation, Mr Yadzeychak answered different questions by participants of the meeting concerning the activities of the World Bank

  1. Approval of the candidacies from the Coalition for membership at the EITI Board

Mr Sabit Baghirov provided information on the forming at an international conference, to be hosted in Oslo in October, of the EITI Board consisting of representatives from international organizations as well as civil society organizations active in different countries. Participants of the meeting proposed Mr Sabit Baghirov, Mr Inqlab Ahmadov and Mr Qubad Ibadoqlu in the capacity of candidates for the EITI Board. For his part, Mr Mayis Gulaliyev proposed himself as a candidate.

Decision:

The Coalition proposes four members in the capacity of its candidates for the EITI Board:

1. Mr Sabit Baghirov

2. Mr Inqlab Ahmadov

3. Mr Qubad Ibadoqlu

4. Mr Mayis Gulaliyev
