1. Results of the 6th general assembly of the Coalition

It was decided:

To convene a press conference on the results of 2005 and to introduce newly elected members of the Board to the audience, at the great hall of the Baku Press Center, on December 28th, from 11 till 12am;

To discuss the logo and other attributes of the Coalition, at one of the next-in-turn meetings of the Board.

2. Election of the Coordinator of the Coalition Board

It was decided:

Sabit Bagirov was elected as the Coordinator of the Coalition Board to the next term, following the winning of 7 votes in his favor, with one abstainer

3. Accession of news members to the Coalition

It was decided:

1. To affiliate the Technological Progress and Education Foundation (chaired by Ehtiram Soltanoghlu) on the basis of the corresponding application;

2. In accordance with the rules of accession to the Coalition, at the 6th general assembly, to approach other organizations, who applied to membership, to submit the required documents and provide representation at the next meeting of the Coalition Board.

4. Current issues

Opinions were expressed over the improvement of the management and preparation of procedures of the Board, and delegation of authority among board members. The members of the Board were proposed to prepare the corresponding proposals and submit them for consideration to the Board.

I. Ahmadov, S. Bagirov and G. Afandiyev briefed the audience of preparations for the International Regional Conference, to be held in Baku in April. It was decided to discuss this issue thoroughly at the next meeting of the Board.

Ogtay Gulaliyev briefed the audience of the next media-forum to be organized at the office of the Markaz (center) newspaper in the framework of the project entitled The role of the media in increasing transparency in extractive industries. The members of the Board, Mais Gulaliyev and Sevgim Rahmanov were mandated to participate in the forum on behalf of the Coalition.

Sevgim Rahmanov got the audience’s approval of his proposal on fixing the agenda of the next meeting at the present gathering. It was decided to hold the next meeting of the Board on January 5th. Included in the agenda were the action plan of the Board and issues related to the preparations for the international regional conference.
