1. To discuss the appeals to candidates and voters in connection with the elections;

2. To disclose the second report of the government commission on the EITI (annual for 2004) and provide information about the relevant opinion of an audit company;

3. To select a “competition commission” to manage and assess the results of the competition on the best article that will be conducted among journalists within the framework of the project “The role of the media in the extractive industries”;

4. Current issues.

Decisions taken at the sitting

1. Appeals prepared by G. Ibadoglu to candidates and voters in connection with the elections were adopted with changes. It was decided that the texts should be translated into Russian and English after the final options are prepared, posted on the website of the coalition and published in popular newspapers.

2. The second report of the government commission on the EITI was announced (annual for 2004) and Sabit Bagirov’s report on the appropriate decision of the audit company was heard.

3. The following decisions were made in connection with this issue:

1. To approve a “competition commission” of seven people in order to manage and assess the results of the competition on the best article on the transparency of the EITI, oil and oil profits to be conducted among journalists.

2. To conduct a special round table discussion attended by the members of the council and journalists in order to make sure that journalists who want to take part in the competition get additional information and possible questions arising in connection with the competition are answered.
