Actions taken on September 25- October 01

September 26:

A radio-dialogue with the participation of Mirvari Gahramali, member of the Coalition Council, on the "Problem of worker in the extractive industry" organized by the Inam Pluralism Center was presented on Antenn 101 FM radio. Problems of workers working in the extractive industry and opportunities of using of oil revenues in solving of these problems were discussed at the program. According to experts, oil industry workers should not face with difficulties while getting information about oil revenues and their spending. To provide transparency both on revenues and expenditures is very important.

September 27

A round table with the participation of 45 representatives of the city community, education workers, students, local executives body, businessmen and veterans of war, was held in Gusar region. Shamil Movsumov, member of ITEI Coalition opened the event. Nariman Agayev, member of the Coalition Council made a speech on the Transparency Initiative, attending of Azerbaijan this initiative, establishment of the NGOs Coalition, oil contracts, State Oil Fund (SOFAZ) and events realized by the Coalition. Ogtay Gulaliyev, member of the Coalition Council, informed participants about "Oil is for all of us" campaign and its significance. Khanlar Suleymanov, teacher of the Gusar Pedagogical College stressed the importance of the campaign realized by ITEI Coalition. Gusar bureau of ANS TV prepared a TV material from the event and Gulalyev replied to questions of reporter.

September 29

A conference on "Oil contracts and protection of the environment" with the participation of teachers and students was held at Azerbaijan Technical University. Sabit Bagirov, coordinator of the Coalition Council informed participants about significance of transparency on oil revenues, essence and history of EITI. Telman Zeynalov, member of the Coalition Council, made a speech on ecological problems after realizing of oil contracts and spoke about importance of useful spending of oil revenues to remove these problems. Professor Habib Ojagov, head of the Emergency Cases and Security Department of the University and Shafi Danialov, deputy dean stressed the importance of the conference. Ogtay Gulalaiyev, Ilham Huseynli, members of the Coalition Council and Ehtiram Ali, coordinator of the project also attended the event.

September 30

A round table on the "International Transparency Initiatives and civil society" with the participation of intellectuals, representatives of public organizations, municipalities (total 46 persons) of Agstafa and Gazakh regions was held in Agstafa. Ogtay Gulaliyev, member of the Coalition Council, made a speech on transparency initiatives and civil society. Ruhangiz Huseynova, member of ITEI Coalition and Ilham Huseynli, member of the Coalition Council also shared their opinions on EITI with participants. Ilgar Valiyev, member of ITEI Coalition from Agstafa region, actively participated in organizing and holding of the conference.

Books, posters, calendars printed by the Coalition were distributed among participants.
